Well, at least according to an article in today’s ITWeb newsletter.
Reading a bit more carefully it’s actually said by one Vic Gundotra, GM for platform strategy at Microsoft. It’s hard to tell though, as ITWeb does a good job with their press-release articles.
I’m not sure why I get annoyed at things like this. The ‘article’ is barely worth the bandwidth. Most of the time the damage is minimal, as anyone basing their decisions on stuff like this is bound to fall on their face soon. To quote from the article:
there is a new wave of developer activity on the Microsoft developer platform now that the initial enthusiasm for open source has passed and developers are beginning to realise the business need for intellectual property protection and a real economic model.
Yes well…
A more thorough look at the dismal state of the media will have to wait, as, having come back from the Transkei yesterday, waking up at 4am this morning and arriving straight to work from the airport, I’m surprised I managed to string this much together.
I was awaiting your comment about my IOL placing a news article under South Africa about them having issues.
I pitty your “night watchmen”.
