A while ago I got addicted to the Africa Geography Game, a silly addictive Flash game that tests one’s knowledge of African geography.
At the back of my mind I’ve been considering writing a proper application that does something similar, but is much more flexible, testing capitals, flags, etc. Luckily anyone interested in the idea won’t have to wait for me to do it as it already exists. KGeography is a great educational game written for (surprise surprise) KDE.
There are 5 modes, as opposed to the one of the Flash game. A player can be given a name, and asked to choose the right country (or region, province etc) from a map, be asked to choose based upon capital city, asked to supply the capital (multiple choice), choose based upon flag, or choose the flag based upon country.
Now you know the kind of thing that excites me 🙂
